Hello, I'm New!

Post by mrmorrisminor »

HI FOLKS,
Thought I'd just drop a line as I've just joined the forum.
I've been around morris minors for about 11 years now, my first one was a 2 door, complete restoration ready to use as my first car, which I still do on a daily basis to commute to work. I then got bitten by the bug bigtime, first getting a 1960 convertible (another resto project, good job Dad taught me how to weld!!) then a 1969 traveller (I'm a lot better at woodwork now and a dab hand with the varnish!!) all of which are in regular use. I managed to convince my younger brother to have one too, so last year we restored a 1960 4 door for him to use as his first car. Currently I'm working on 1971 pick up I bought last year, which i'm having to totally rebuild the chassis, cab off the lot, and doing some 'tidying' to my latest toy, a 1967 4 door bought at Christmas, I had to promise that this would be the last one!! (I hope to have it ready for spring, pick up may take longer!!).

It is so nice to see that there are other people out there that are mad on moggies too, all my mates think I'm a sandwich short of a picnic!!

Welcome aboard and remember just because you have excellent taste it doesn't mean your mates will, and there is quite a big following in Kent for Moggies :D
Cheers

Hello Mr Morrisminor and welcome to the forum! I notice you are in Kent? Which part? There are three active branches to choose from to join in the Kent area- especially the East kent lot who meet tonight at the "Dog and Duck pub in Plucks gutter" . There are lots of us there also mad on moggies and restoring cars.

We have the Hop rally each year where you can show off your car(s).
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Thank you for all the responses, it's great to hear of so many people locally who are mad on Moggies too. I'll make it my mission to get to a meeting soon :-)
