Minilite style wheels

Does anyone know if 13" x 6" minilite style wheels will fit my 1965 convertible without any modification?
What size tyres would be best?

It depends on the PCD of the vehicle they came from and the offset.

If they are from a Sprite/Midget they should be ok.

6" wide, you are looking at tyres 165 to 185 wide, although you can go much wider on the back... I would suggest a 70 profile too, so 185/70/13 would probably be a good bet imo

Remember that wider than 165`s will make the steering feel heavier especially when parking when compared to the standard 145's

Well I went from 145R14 to 185/60/R14 on minilites and the steering is lighter! I thought it would be heavy, but not so, go figure...

Well that must be down to the lighter rims I suppose although you have kept the same diameter, on my car I have the 5J steel rims with 165's and its defintely a tad heavier than my old saloon on 145's

but the bigger alloys like the 15's would fit ok with the right spacers?

The important thing is the correct pcd and offset I am not sure if there is a 15" standard rim available.

I dont think there is, however wheels can be redrilled to suit etc. Depending on the offset you may not need spacers

PCD is right, but you *might* need spacers, and you definately need different wheel nuts (mini alloy wheel sort) if you went for them its probably a good idea to go for the spacers and nuts too!

Using anything more than about 1/2" spacers is not wise. Mini wheels will fit as far as PCD is concerned - but the offset may be too much inwards and the tyres will probably foul the suspension at the front.
