Boot Rack

Post by smh582003 »

Hi all , I've just bought a boot rack from Charles ware of Bristol. It looks really good but I was wondering if any of you have fitted one? I have been told about the clamps being coverd to stop scratching the paint work so will be using an old cycle inner tube.I did a dummy fitting. Has anyone else fitted one and if so how did you get on with the rubber feet (or any other tips would be great) as they do'nt seem to be flush with the body work. Once again thanks

When I bought my first Minor it came with a boot rack with 4 rubber feet. When I removed the rack the car paintwork came with it. I would suggest covering the suckers in cling film or a thin layer of wax polish and checking the rack still holds on the boot safely.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

As Peetee says plenty of wax under the suckers and remove it occasionally to clean where the feet and clamps go.
Cheers
