i tried a halogen worklight in a cradle, 500 watt, can't seem to get it to point were it needs to, gets very hot and melts tyres etc if not careful, if used underneath it rains hot underseal, last week after changing the 3rd tube in 30 mins after gently tapping it it was hurled in the skip were it belongs.
hope santa brings me a nice new lamp

I found this quaint LUCAS item at an autojumble last year for £2. The wire is twiddled up into the body by turning the lampholder guard. I'll keep an eye out if anyone else wants one..

happened upon one in the Frost catalogue this morning that looks nice
not entirely dissimilar to Alex's one

nice price too
That damned frost catalogue is my nemesis - just know that if i wont the lottery would have to buy most things in there ! serves me right for leaving it in the kitchen where sometimes i have a quick look whilst waiting for the kettle or somesuch :-?
