It’s funny how a snippet of information can lead to other things. Thankfully now we have all managed to sort the problems out without putting on the high heals and handbags. Hopefully now this will bring us all closer together as car enthusiasts and the start of a good working relationship from both marques of car to share ideas and the like

All the best,

It is my opinion that this kind of thing, and an apparent intolerance of the views of others within our own ranks let alone those of other marques, is exactly why we are not expanding as a club, and attracting a higher number of new members.

Steps off of personal soapbox.

Well I thought that the majority of new members were coming from this message board/website, so I cannot see that the two are related. I think its just one opinionated individual who has caused a bit of a problem, which thankfully has been dealt with swiftly.
We only need to look at some of our own topics to witness an element of intolerance. However thank heavens we all have our own opinions to maintain a vibrant community, if at sometimes it is intolerant.

You are right Jonathon in that the majority of new members now join via this websiite, and it is for exactly this reason that I made my comments. My concern is that if potential new members see postings that show narrow mindedness and/or an intolerance of other classic marques, or even in relation to an individuals area of interest within our own club. they will simply walk away. As you say, we all have our own opinions. The secret is to respect the opinions and tastes of others that differ from your own.

I understand your sentiments Bill, but the last club I would want to join would be one without diverse ideas, its how a site is kept 'fresh' infact 'comfortable' clubs where debate and new ideas are stifled or where its impossible to get your opinions heard quickly by those who make decisions on the members behalf are clubs to avoid. Clubs offering a uniform or universal opinion can often be the most intolerant of all. I'm all for an open club which listens, debates and acts, with the provisor that it respects the opinions of others. :D
