Fuel Tank Sender Nut Size

Post by jgunson »

Came to fit one of the old type senders to my traveller today - going back to the bronze type gauge - and found that the nut to attach the cable was missing. Anybody know what size / thread the nut is?

Cheers

I've tried 6ba which is too small and 4ba which is too large. In desperation I got out a micrometer and measured the bolt. The outside diameter including screw thread is 0.1225 inches and there are 40 threads per inch. I thought it might equate to 1/8 UNF but I cant find a specification for that. Any ideas?

5BA? That's about 0.126" OD and 43TPI.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Searching the internet it seems to fit with 1/8" Whitworth thread. Now all I have to do is find one!
