Have you ever thought that the dead parrot could easily be a rotten old car, and the petshop could be a 2nd hand car-dealership?

Lovely plumage == shiny paintwork?
Nailed to perch == oil engine very low to disguise blown gasket?

No, I have no idea what the cross-dressing lumberjack relates to, maybe Eric Idle's penchant for wearing dresses?

I was looking for a leak once - had a mark on one of the rear wheels that looked like brake fluid.
