How do i get the back seat out

HI- I have a 1970 minor 1000 that i am striping, the interior is very good but i can-not get the back seat out, not the bottom but the back rest, can anyone tell me how to do this easy task :evil:

If you look in the boot you should find that the seat is held in place with two wing nuts.

Be careful with them as they are often rusted in place unless the previous owner was aware of them and lowered the rear to enable a longer load area to be used :D

The bottom of the seat sits in channels so once those bolts are out the seat has to be raised about 4" then it can be taken away from the rear bulkhead.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Just make sure you definitely want the seat out before doing it because putting those wingnuts back in the seat is a real pain!

Just get someone in the back, align the bolt holes, then ask them to push the seat back firmly, and fit the wing bolts. Easy

HI All, THE job has been done so many thanks to you all for your help, HO & i wont be puting them back because i am scrapping the car
