Mystery leak

Hi,

My parents have a mystery leak towards the front of their Minor, my Dad suspects the water may be getting in through the hole where the wiper arms attatch to the mechanism. Should there be a grommet or washer or something there? It isn't the front windscreen (or shouldn't be) as the rubbers for that are new.

Yes there is a rubber grommet where the wiper spindle goes through the body, the other thing to check, is the bonnet hinge tight as there is a rubber gasket under it which also causes interesting leaks.
