It takes the early type of wheel arrangement, 7 inch drum and bolts instead of studs, but this is a proof that there are different types of swivel legs for series II and minor 1000's.
At least the top and bottom threads are similar for both types.

Just for the info... the solution to my problem was diagnosed as follows
"...It looks as though you need the pre Dec 53 that has a different type of hub and brake drum. We are having some reconditioned at the moment, they will be about three to four weeks. If you want to place an order use part number SUS133R & SUS134R, add in the comments box as per e-mail early type."
So anyone with a similar situation can quote the above part numbers and problem solved
