advice needed - automatics

Post by budhababe »

Hello

This may be a dumb question but do minors come in automatic flavours?!

Without wanting to offend anyone - I used to be a mini automatic driver for years. I have had 'sensible adult' cars (too embarrassed to list makes/models) for a few years and want to go back to something more fun. As I have now got a baby and all of the many bits and pieces for her (have baby need suitcase!) I think a minor might be a better option than a mini.

However I'm an automatic driver and don't know if this is an option? I don't have much time since the bubba came along so renovation is probably not an option - did they ever come as standard or will it only be modified cars?

Advice on whether they exist and if so what pitfalls to look out for would be greatfully recived. I'd actually like a traveller (not that I want much!).

Any advice welcome!

Unfortunately there were no automatic minors made at the factory, there were a few conversions using marina auto bits though, you might be able to find one if you look around!

Marina auto is nearest (but seemingly rare) beast. Plenty auto Minis about - so stick to what you know best!

There's a Minor on e-bay at the moment with full automatic Marina running gear.
Look under "Classic Cars" and then choose "Morris". It looks to be quite a tidy car as well.

You could always check with the seller to see if the sale went through - many ebay car sales fail - I know - that's how I got my TR7 !! If it did go through - check with 'doobydabber' who may be willing to sell it on.
