Good news then. Mine is going in on Thursday, but should be ok (checked over fine - just needed the never used handbrake adjusted). However, a lot of garages seem to be doing 'advisories' now when really there is nothing amiss. My saab had advisories on brake pipes even though they were almost pristine - there must be someone telling them to do this to cover themselves.
I wouldn't be surprised if he notes something this time though - valve caps not lining up when vehicle parked or something like that
I had one advisory last year because the tester 'Didn't really know'.
There was play in track rod end.
His actual words were something like "There's a bit of play in this but I'm not sure how much theres meant to be, I know its more than the other side..."
Surely a rod end is a rod end, regardless of vehicle. I changed it anyway.
Thats one of the benefits of being in the local branch- you get to hear about the sensible local MOT centres and the ones that know the cars. The tester last week on my Traveller knew all the ins and outs of Minors.
I got an advisory last year re: brake pipes, but to be honest there's nothing apart from a little surface rust in 1 or 2 places which rubbed off easily. I put some nice grease over the rubbed areas to indicate I've followed their advice.....
