1970 MADE AWNING FOR MORRIS TRAVELLER

Post by annieb »

Hello
i own a 1965 traveller. I was out shopping one day and a lady started chatting about the car. her father had one. He had made an awning to fit round the back of the car. She still had it. And needless to say, i bought it.
Having checked with a few places. i find that no one really has ever heard of one. Would it be worth reproducing....

Have you got a picture of it assembled? How is it intended to be used?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

I'd love to see it. Part of me thinks it'll look daft and be good for a laugh, another part of me thinks that despite this - it'll be a cool thing to have. Ideal for those rainy picnics.
What would Macgyver do..?

I had one of these sort of things for when I had Range Rover & Discovery -

They do lower versions for estates so there might be one in their range that fits Minor van and Traveller.
BTW dear to buy new but I got mine off eBay for £30 in mint condition.

So it's intended for sleeping in? What's the advantage over a normal tent; is it just the ability to reach stuff that's kept in the back of the vehicle without going outside?

I imagine that the advantage is that you sleep in the back of the van or traveller rather than on lumpy ground and stones and have extra space to store your wellies
