wheel colour and paint

Post by steve4063 »

my traveller is trafalger blue. what colour should the wheels be.
i have the hub caps for it but he wheels are quite rough,

i'm going to wire brush them with my angle grinder and then spray them up whats the best paint to use.

i'd prefer to use celly or a normal can out of a shop i don't like and have never used 2 pack and wouldn't know how to use it either.

also i'm picking up another traveller which is a grey colour what colour is this????????

thanks

They shouldn't flex, so any normal paint you can buy from the shops really.

Make sure they are very clean though before you start, and primer first

I have just had the first of my wheels sand blasted and powder coated for the princely sum of £22. The colour is a close match to the original Old English White. It looks as new! It was a trader local to me near Blackpool, so if anyone wants details, please PM me.

wheels

Post by Willie »

From June 1970 on the Travellers only, the wheels were painted in
Light Silver as opposed to Dark Silver.

Just for future reference - is there anyone in the Coventry area that does sand blasting and coating?

My Trav was first registered 11/06/1970 - so should the wheels be dark silver or light? (for the last 15-20 years they have been white!)

Dont know about the silver but Rover Arum White is the same as Old English White and many owners prefer it to the silver on the later cars.
