Brake pedal return spring

Post by pmdavies »

It's me again! So I'm overhauling the brakes, managed to get the master cylinder out after reading advice from this site, many thanks, didn't fancy taking the torson bar off! Anyway, I've worked out from the diagram in the Haynes manual that the brake pedal return spring is missing. I can see where it hooks on the pin in the master cylinder yoke but what does it hook into the other end?

Thanks

Pete

Should be a little bracket with a hole for the spring to hook through - maybe it's rusted away!

hook

The hook eye should sit on the bottom of the chassis leg. If it has rusted away you can weld a nut to the chassis leg as a replacement. If there is enough of the chassis leg left that is!
