Milly the Traveller - Update

Post by iandromiskin »

Hi,

I managed to get some time to play with my Traveller yesterday, especially since there was nothing else to do with the rain. My main task was to treat the wood frame with Oxilic acid and hover up the mess on the inside since I sanded it all down. While at it I decided in my madmess to take out all the seats and carptes to see how bad the floors etc where as there is quite a bit of decay visible underneath.

Image This is her yesterday minus some bits.

Ok so this is the bad part I suppose, though it mostly appears to be surface rust with the odd significant fatal hole here and there.

Image
This is a general view of the passenger floor panal after I took everything out. The rear floors look quite ok on the far side of the centre box section, but the front floor panals look a bit worse for wear.

This is a nice little hole in the passenger floor pan just above the centre cross member, which is also rotton along with the chasis leg I think too. I havn't managed to get the kick plate off yet, so god only knows whats lurking under there ??!!??

What do peeple think of this and how bad it is ? Significant amount of decay by the centre box section passenger side.

I do have a video I have to upload to Youtube today. Its a bit dark on the inside of the car but it'll give people a perspective. I don't know how to weld, I just do the small stuff, so I have to bring her down to a man in Athy for a diagnosis soon. Any comments so far ????
