Hi,can anyone help.
I have an oil leak on my 1965 Convertible.
Engine was re built a few years ago befre I bought it and it looks all pretty cleam
Once I have been for a run I have a pool of oil from underneath when it is left to stand.
I cleaned it all off underneath as I thougt it was coming from the back of the sump.
It isn't,it appears to be coming from the bottom of the gearbox around the slit pin.
All the breather pipes are ok,does any one have any ideas how to fix or cure?
Thanks
Haggis

Engine out job - oil is getting past the rear main bearing into the clutch bellhousing. This can happen due to excessively high oil level (is it ?) or more likely due to pressure in the engine blowing the oil out through the simple 'scroll' type seal. So with engine hot and idling - take the oil filler cap off. Is there a plume of smoke/oil fume ?
