boot lining

Post by Pascal »

Hi,

My inner rear wings being covered with sticky tar, I'm looking for a solution to stop my belonging ending up covered in the same thing when I put them in the boot.

ESM sell wheel arch covers but they go in the cabin, not in the boot, right?

Should I try to glue some sort of carpet or vynil? Or should I just paint over the tar?

Regards

Best bet is to clean off the sealer with a scraper then panel wipe. This sticky layer is not the original finish and may well have been applied to cover repairs in that area. Trouble is rather than re painting= expensive some garages will just blast the area in underseal, giving the problems you are experiencing. Once you have removed the sealer and cleaned the area thoroughly you can then decide on your prefered finish, be it a stonechip or painted one.
