Anyone remember the kit car based on van chassis ?

Post by paulhumphries »

In early 70's there was a kit car that was based on the van / pick-up chassis and running gear.
It was similar style to Scimitar GTE but rear was removable.
I think it had pop up headlights.
The name was something like Griffon.
I saw a couple at shows but not for years.
Anyone remember them ?

btw I'm not slightest bit interested in owning one but just curious :D

I've found out a little more.

A reply from someone on another list -

"The car in question was a GDXM then a Griffin.
Had it's own chassis but based on the morris running gear.
A few shells were offered for a vw floorpan but never came to much,
I believe the total number made was somewhere in the early 20's. "
