Seat belt mounting to B post - 1965 convertible

Post by southerly95 »

The trap nut on the drivers side B post for the top seat belt mounting is now sitting at the bottom of the B post. SAny ideas how to geta new one in? If I cut a hole at the rear of the B post will it pass the MOT?

Thanks, John

i had a similar thing when i replace the hinge pillars

as i was aligning the door the plate fell out and i ended up having to cut a hole in the NEW panel i'd just put in and filled painted and got a really neat finish too :x

i was not happy but at least on the other side after i'd got it all on and realised i hadn't put them in  and once they did i thought it was a bit loose so i closed the holder up that side went in lovely apart from it had moved on the re-weld and when i tried to align the door it was about 10" higher at a funny angle i was not amused.

but back to the thread yes i'd say its mot as its seat belt and structual so you'd need to cut an access to get it out and then weld it up all neat and tidy again

you'd think they'd invent a car with little holes to get at these things when they fall off

have fun
