One of my classics is up for re-insurance this month.
Currently with Footman James, but someone recently listed another insurer who I checked out and found to be considerably cheaper!
Can't remember who now.....can someone please flirt me a list of classic car insurers, either on here or via PM.
Thanks,
Graham.

AON have taken over Footman James
as far as I'm concerned AON are the best and I've been with them several years now and did find them cheaper than FJ anyway + added benefits.... mine is up for renawal shortly but depending on price etc; may have to reconsider when I get the price.
I have found in the past that you can always 'haggle' with 'AON' especially when you are an existing client
( oh and btw, tell them if you're in the AA or Rac and don't require breakdown cover, that makes quite a difference to the premium ) you don't get out for nowt

Moggy £34......... A35 £15...............MGB £56 total £107 for fully comp; unlimited mileage, guaranteed value, audio equipt; covered + hotel stay if long way from home.. that's what I call unbeatableI am with RH - costs me £80 for the year - UNLIMITED mileage - and it includes breakdown and recovery to home if the breakdown lads can't fix it!! Unbeatable I think.

Cheaper to join the AA as well and forget breakdown cover

I was with Aon, now with FJ. Aon were charging me £135, and FJ £98.10. Someone mentioned Adrian Flux - anyone had any dealings?

I still think it's obviously personal choice, but bear in mind when I say that I don't accept breakdown cover from these companies, that being a member of the AA also covers my everyday car, and I have just queeried my AA renewal last month... they quoted me quite a bit of an increase but a check on the internet showed that buying online made a considerable saving... ( which I don't do ) so I rang them and asked why it was cheaper online, the differnence was about £20+ if I remember, so I told them that if I didn't get it at the same price as offered online, I would cancel and go with the RAC.... I'll leave you to guess the outcome
it all depends on you bargaining skills..

Just checked policy - paid £170 for fully comp and Rac cover. (with AON)
The car only covered 4,000 miles between mot's.

First things first, but not necessarily in that order.

Footman James have just sent my renewal for the Rover P4. Last year - £98.10, this year £136.95.
Sheesh!
RH wanted £126.00. Been quoted £88.25 from Adrian Flux.
Might see if I can get a better offer, since I’ve got till the 30th of May for this one.

A few of my policies are with FJ, as AON quoted at least 50% more (Minors and Land Rover).
However for the Trabi, Aon were cheaper than FJ, and both were too expensive. The Trabi is now with 'Sureterm' for a sensible price!
Basically it pays to shop around if cost is the main factor.
However if you have a show car then you need to consider more than just the price!! AON's behaviour/reputation is a big factor in them being chosen as the club scheme.
