Hi folks
I did a silly thing today.... managed to snap the head of one of the c/s bolts (2ba?) holding the door catch in place on the driver's door. No matter, thought I....... I have just the tool to remove the broken screw....
I therefore carefully drilled the screw centre, and screwed in my stud extractor.... which promptly snapped, leaving a hardened steel plug in the screw remains! As this is in the captive plate to allow for adjustment, how on earth am I going to remove this? The door striker plate is now held by one new screw only!
Any ideas anyone?
Many thanks!
Dom

Is it on the door or on the B post?
If it is your four door in your siggy picture and it is on the B post, good news - you can remove the plate, but bad news I think you have to remove the back door. At least that is what I did!

you'll find one corner is rounded off so that you can lever the plate out. What ever you do don't drop it inside the b post!! Once I got the plate out. I managed to unscrew it from the back of the plate with a mole wrench.
I bought some new 2BA c/s screws from ESM
