Neil Tomlinson "TOP BLOKE"

Post by flymike »

Well what a Great afternoon i have had in the company of Neil Tomlinson. aka neiltomlinson.

I went over to Neils house to swap my tow bar for a rear bumper with all the all bits. a deal that we had already agreed over the telephone

I arrived at Neils House to find Neil was (with hangover) starting to part strip a minor on his drive with the help of younger family members.

having had a cup of tea and a look at Neils superb pick up, stunning convertible and super part built trailer (moggy rear end) my attention came to rest on the large amount of much needed parts that were still on the minor sitting out on the drive. :D

hhmm i said that bonnet looks in perfect order...and thats where the fun began...off came the bonnet, the wiper arms, the wiper blades and complete set of seat belts front and rear

another cup of tea came out and some jammy dodgers. :P

need a new indicator stalk and rad panel i said so off they came, it's got a stainless steel exhaust system said Neil so that came off too.

well said neil i've started so i'd better finnish and he set about removing the front wings and anything else that was bolted on, a conversation started about the poor state of my front inner wings. no sooner had i said this than neil shot off into his well stocked workshop and came back with a rather large angle grinder. lots of sparks and 5 minuits later i had both left and right front inner wings and part chassis rails in the back of my car.

another cup tea came out. :P

not much left he said, apart from the wiring loom you've had most of it...i'm not one to disapoint so set about the wiring loom and in no time at all it was removed along with door rubbers and various other parts to numerous to mention and added to the huge amount of parts already sitting in my car

a few bits of coloured folded paper exchanged hands and we both knew the amount was more of a token than anything else.

so i'd just like to say THANK YOU NEIL your a top bloke. and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

ps thanks to your wife for the much appriciated, never ending, supply of tea.

Many Thanks
Mike (the pain in the @r$3)

That reminds me - in all seriousness, is there any chance of chopping the B posts from him?

Neil and his missus (Debbie?) are nice folks, we met them and Marmite at the Isle of Wight Rally last year. They were part of the hardy few who camped, and Neil and another chap helped me get our family tent up in the wind.
