Got a minor !!!!

Post by Glasgowhopeful »

Looks like we can join the club now instead of just looking on! After several months of researching and searching we've agreed to buy. It's an updated 4 door - certainly not for the purist but the right car for 2 time pressed novices and a baby we believe. Just wanted to say how unbelievably helpful this site has been in our progression from minor fans to minor owners and thanks especially to badfalafel for letting us see his minor when we were first thinking about one! Of course, now I will be bugging you all with my pleas for advice! :D MAybe I should change my username to Glasgowhopless as that reflects my technical know how !

Now dont be like that. We all had to start somewhere. At least you might get good advice here and not be sent out for a long weight or a left handed screwdriver.

Everyone is welcome in the MMOC, whether or not they actually own a Minor. But I'm pleased that you have found one, and hopefully we will see you at a rally sometime :D

Haven't actually GOT the car yet so I don't want to jinx it but I will tell all once it is actually here ! Will post pics too in a couple of weeks. Overexcitement lead to premature posting of news - should contain myself really!

Welcome! - this place is brill for support - all sorts of questions / queries / answered.... , loads of suggestions too :D

you can also join in the social get togethers as well, for example - SADMOG meets every Thurs in / around Southampton / New Forest, that just around 440 miles each way for you...around 16 hours round trip - but you might want to give yourself an extra 15 mins for a tea stop though

Regards, Mike.

Car arrived yesterday! Hooray! Will post pics once I have found or replaced my digital camera which went awol over the holidays. If you read this badfalafel then we should definitely have a meet ! 2nd go at driving test on the 11th of feb so the car is off limits until then - especially as the indicators are different - don't want to mess up my driving in my instructor's car! Scottish rally sounds good too as I don't think my driving will be up to the national this year! Will details be put on here?

All the Scottish Classic car events are listed on www.svvf.org.uk The ones to NOT MISS - are Thirlestane Castle (3 June), Moffat (23/24 june), Lennoxlove (15 July), Knockhill (22 july), Biggar (12 August), Scone (9 Sept). There are many others - these are the main ones. The Scottish Minor Rally is stupidly arranged for 3 June in Kilmarnock - same day as the excellent Thirlestane Castle event at Lauder. I know where I'm going!!
