I'm working on a college assignment at the moment. It involves writing a business plan, and I need to put in some costings for my virtual business. Obviously I've decided to have a Morris Minor as my business vehicle, probably a van! Is anyone on here running a van or other Morris Minor for their business, and if so would you mind giving me some idea of what the insurance cost is, and for what mileage?

I must try not to use up all my 5000 words for this essay writing about Morris Minors
hi lynda
i have 2 minors the 1st is a 4 door saloon £98 to insure
2nd is a pickup extra cost for admin £15 to insure
both fully comp with me, my wife and a mate to drive
so in a nutshell about £98-£100 should cover the cost of a classic car

When the vehicle absolutely has to be running you'd better budget for some maintenance, and by that I mean paying somebody else to maintain it. When you're running your own business I doubt very much you'll have time to maintain a classic. Well, maybe routine maintenance, but as soon as anything serious happens you'll be stuffed if you can't work because the van has bust.
Time off to fix the Minor means time lost - that's why our local farm has leased a modern van when they really wanted a Minor.
I would budget a minimum of £100 a month for running a Minor van.

hi lynda, might be a good idea to post about this on the LCV Register forum too, many of the LCV owners run them for business purposes. http://com1.runboard.com/blcvregister
Hi Lynda it could also be worth contacting Dennis aupickup on here as he has run commercials for some years and is I believe self employed, so a PM will probably give you some good info.
