Which class is my car in?

Post by Kevin »

There are 3 classes to the Custom and Modified Register, they are:-

Heritage Modified Class - This is for fairly standard cars but have upgrades IE brakes, engine, etc. from during the production run of the Minor (IE 1948 to 1971). For example a Midget engine and Wolseley 9" drums.

Sport Modified Class - This is pretty much the same as the Heritage class apart from the modifications can use the brakes, engine. etc. of non-production run. For example Crossflow engine with a type 9 gearbox and Ford disc brakes.

Custom Class - This is basically anything goes! The only real stipulations in this class are that it is still recognisable as a Minor and is still valid for Historic Vehicle status by the DVLA.

I hope this helps break down each class. If, however, you are still unsure as to the class your car may be in then post your questions and I'll try to help.

Lee, Haven't finished yet have a 940 head to go on and then want a 1 1/2" exhaust system. Think I will put it on a rolling road then.

We could then have a competition to guess the BHP.

Honda Accord front and rear seats
How much effort were these to fit? Especially the rear seats.

Also what model Accord? They semed to change every two weeks in the 80's

Sounds like I'm looking at low end Sports modified when I get done :)
but this could take a few years

Paul,
The seats were from a Honda Accord Aerodeck 4W ALB EX2.0 "F" reg. I took the complete rear seats to a car trimmer and he fitted seat back to original Moggy board and he reworked the squab to fit. Had to put a couple of pieces of foam under squab to pack it up a bit due to no spring interior, as in old seat. Modern cars have the seat moulded to the shape of the floor.

Pete, A prize would call for an entry fee.
