Nick Mann
One of the things that kept my interest in Minors going during the dark days of 'reliable modern transport' was the memory of one Nick Man and his V8 Minor. Holder of the coveted 'fastest accelerating road-legal car of all time'.
Today I was spring cleaning our bedroom and found a nice A3 poster of the old girl gathering dust behind the wardrobe. Funnily enough I typed Morris Minor into Youtube (as i have done many times) and for the first time it came up with Nicks V8 Minor!
Doo de doo-doo!
Watch and enjoy:

Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
I have had that on VHS for years and over Christmas digitised that and a lot more. I am slowly editing the hours I have and putting it on You Tube. The Minors on Top Gear was one of them. That was one of the most watched and favourited films of the day, thank you!
Nic Mann is still hillclimbing bt in a home built special. It is turbo charged and uses a small jet engine to provide boost for the turbo...very clever. http://raceenginedesign.biz/Manic-Beattie.htm

PS I would love to see a film of Nic Manns Minor in action up a hillclimb.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

It says in the linked article, "In 1990, having reached a plateau in the car’s engineering development, together with the arrival of a new family, the car was sold to drag racer Bill Sherratt. It still competes in that category today."

This message board is like a family - you can't choose the other members!! But remember engine oil is thicker than water.
