welcome to the 500th post is this a record on here I wonder? ;-)

compass was nice but almost ZERO parking which was a big problem, we spent a lot of time waiting for spaces outside.

how about the lamb? or other suggestions?

but ZERO parking
That must have a large car park as none of our pubs will allow you to park a WW11 plane in it

The Lamb is the nearest pub to me of all we've used, so it's a fine choice :-)

EDIT: The thought occurs that as it will be a bit of a wild night the pub may be less busy...

That may be true Jim, but I would not have said it was busy the night we went there. No problems getting a table or being served yet still a serious lack of parking.

Think it looked like 15-20 spaces for the whole pub, and it looked like poor local parking was possibly forcing residents to use a few of those?

lets stick with the lamb this week.

I was talking about the Lamb, Rob. AFAIR there wasn't all that much seating inside, so I wondered if there would be a table for all of us. Last time I went it was still just warm enough to sit outside.

Given the state of the weather and the potential for blocked roads should we have a fall back pub on a main road to save frantic mobile calls at the last minute?

The Lamb all being well and the Dragon at Brook if it all goes tree-shaped.
Sound OK?

You missed a nice evening Mike. However I think we were the only people in there that weren't smoking.

Things have been a bit mad this week, so wasn't there.

Might I suggest the Bold Forrester next week (I do like that pub!)

Hello

I have almost fully transfered to my Mog, :D changed the engine for one with an unleaded head, mini pistons, mini valves and its been gas flowed, MG diff but that meant I had to send off the speedo to be recalibrated, fitter heated rear and front windscreens (not yet fully wired in), seatbelts in the front too (I remember Jimmy's clunk click). I have sold my 5 yr old car and by next thursday I will be a full time Moggy driver. I would like to come to your pub meet but is there any chance of you holding it now and then on the east side of Southampton? Just cuts down the travel time a bit from Bognor where I am based in the week. :D

Some more meets this side of town would be great for me too, but I think I am the only one at the moment...

Hi Dan

That would be great if everyone doesnt mind. :)

My car is in the garage at the moment being beaten back into shape after a 4x4 in Sainsburys Horsham remodled the o/s front wing and door, they decided to drive into my car  while she was parked minding her own business there waiting for me and they didn't even stop. Only know it was a 4x4 because they left tyre tracks!

Getting her back Friday yey!

The Good Beer Guide has turned up the Jolly Sailor, on the river in Burlesdon (postcode SO31 8DN). It says park in the station carpark and follow the signed footpath.

Anybody fancy trying it? Maybe when Ugabug can get over? It's fairly handy for J8 on the M27.

I'm teaching in Bournemouth, so it might be a rush to get home and out again for 8pm.

Is the miniPaulk doing OK? A ex-girlfriend practically had a season ticket for A&E, so I remember how horrible asthma can be.

My ex was in A&E so often (monthly or so) that the staff started to recognise her. I remember once when the ambulance turned up and the medic came in saying "Hi, how have you been? Apart from now, obviously..." :-)

They'd use the big nebulizer thing that gives you an entire inhaler in one hit. It used to leave her shaky, I know that.

If there's anything we can do...

Not recommended in the dark I would say and the carpark has a poor reputation for safety and collision avoidance and the pub is pokey and smokey and .....Oh I think you get the idea.
There's better choices out there. At the top of the hill just short of Tesco's (J9 M27 - Southampton exit, next r'bout 1st exit. 100yds on left) is a Pub with loads of parking and seating.
As it is I'm off this week too. I know it's not far to sneak out for me but one can't leave the sprogs in the house alone eh? What would become of the chockie biccies. it doesn't bear thinking about
That would be great if everyone doesnt mind
Certainly not! Don't see us as a click please. Anyone's welcome. On my daily travels I see a few mogs and think it would be great to do a leaflet drop to let them know about our seshes. The more the merrier - sure the rounds get a little more expensive but then you don't have to buy one for weeks! [deliberate feed-in line... lets see who bites  ]

Hi All

Wow thanks for the warm welcome, wishing Mini Paulk a speedy recovery.

It will be good fun to meet another let a lone a pub full of other Moggy fanciers! :)

Looking forward to next week, have you found a web site called 5 Mins away ? http://www.5minutesaway.co.uk/frm/index.asp it lists pubs just off the motorway, I use it when I go up north and have found a few decent pubs to use for lunch in place of the dreaded service stations.

Don't get carried away, I think it peaks at around 8 people :-)

Excellent! I used to use that a couple of years ago but lost the bookmark and could never find the site again. They did have a WAP portal so you could look up the site on your mobile. Must check to see if that bit is still going.

Pete, I don't think we're a clique - we've continually invited folks to join us. If I'd thought about it I would have asked RogerRust to put a footnote in his WebRally report to explain what SADMOG is and where to find us.
Maybe a letter to Minor Matters should be written, along with a photo of when we had six Minors parked outside a pub in the summer?
Although we don't want to step on the toes of the neighbouring branches...
