Maroon A or B

Post by markattard »

Calling for all the owners of Maroon cars, both A and B to send in some pics. I'm really confused with the difference between these colours and would like to know which is which.

I didn't know that Maroon A was a Minor colour.

Here's a photo of my car, which is Maroon B if this is any help (mine's the one on the left  )

And knowing the owner of the lowlight - I am pretty sure that would be the pukka Maroon A.

Thanks lou, I acquired both maroon A & B paint samples according to the ICI references given, but they are nowhere near the colours of your car and the other car next to yours.

I shall try to get some more samples from another supplier, Congrats for the lovely colour of your car

Well it was a very sunny day and I'd given it a polish as it was going to the National. Ordinarily the paintwork looks duller and darker !

Finally I found a car with a colour that matches my Maroon sample (thanking the unknown owner). Could anyone (especially from concourse) pl confirm this is the true original maroon ?

Maroon A has more red in its composition and maroon B is the blue'r of the two. Don't try and colour match from pictures or external panels, as one pics are printer/process dependant and exterior panels on original cars will have oxidised over the years. If you are going to colour match from a car use a glove box lid or the like where the sun has not disturbed the couloring.:D
