A New Source Of Noise From The Front

Post by Willie »

After years of suffering a mystery clonk from the front end over sharp bumps I have discovered that although the bonnet was securely shut and, in fact, was
resting on the chrome top bar of the grill, it wasn't touching the two rubber
buffers fitted to the front wings. These rubber buffers were in perfect condition so the only thing left to do was to fit some 1/8th" thick rubber strips
under them which brought them up into contact with the bonnet and cured the
clonk immediately. Try pressing your closed bonnet down sharply and see if
you get a clonk!

Haha - well done Willie, sometimes it's the simple things, you should try my Kit Car for size (new one below), few mystery clonks from that!! :D

Hope to drive it in September, should make a nice contrast :D :D

Are these the two rubber buffers at the front of the wings, because I've got two rubber buffers at the back end of the bonnet as well.....and I'm getting a clonk too!

Yes the squarer looking ones rather than the round ones.
