Wheel Selection

Post by dnac »

Hi, can anyone tell me what other manufacturer's wheels fit the standard Moggy?, I think I remember seeing peugeot alloys on moggies in the past, or is that after the marina Brake / axle conversion has been done?

Thanks

MG Midget 13" wheels and pretty much anything Leyland/BMC or old with a 4" PCD.

I have Peugeot steel wheels on my modified car, but I have a Ford Escort Mk2 rear axle and a JLH disc brake conversion on the front with a Ford PCD. The Ford PCD is the same as the Peugeot althought the wheel centre on the Peugeot is very slightly wider than the Ford.

Peugeot/Ford wheels won't fit a standard Minor.

Peugeot alloys (and steels) are used on Ford PCD conversions, they have the right offset and centre bore.

Check out E bay for wheels - usually plenty of slot mags on there - they look good on a Minor. Type in - Cobra slot mags, wolfrace slot mags, or Shelby slot mags and see what comes up.

Hmm, I really want slot mags! More pressing things at the moment to purchase. Plastic orange, what type of slot mags are on your car?

Front are Cobra (bought new in 1980 ish) and rear are American racing (secondhand about 3 years ago). I think that the Cobra ones possibly shine up the best, but they all will even if they look a bit dull - just some elbow grease.
I bought 4 from E bay for my son's minor, and although tarnished have polished up fine, but 1 was damaged and had to be straightened, but is now fine too.
They don't sell for much, so just bid on them - I'd reckon around £60 - £100 would secure them.
