So back to the original subject, what would be the best diff to use on the standard minor axle when running a 1275 with the sierra 5 speed box? Not sure what i have at the moment, but acceleration is very quick but it is not as happy as i would like crusing at 65-70 mph. I wouldn't mind losing some of the acceleration to give more comfortable crusing!

Well then go for a Wolseley 1500 3.7 diff. my 1098 pulls it ok, mind you I have 12g295 head,9.5/1 c/r and 1 3/4" su. But 1275 should have more power than I have.
Ian.
Oh, Bigginger cant remember how much the filters cost. Bought 6 from a motor factors who was packing up an yes of course I use a filter, it would be a bit bl***y stupid not to.

Andrew,
I wasnt implying anything.You posted,
"Just
How much are the filter elements for the 1700? Or dont you use them?"
I didn't ask you how much your filter was , so why would I want your receipt, and to insinuate that I dont use air filters did get me a bit riled.
I really do not understand your last post at all.
Ian.

It was a semi-humourous response to "Oh my budget for this would be £10 !", not ANY sort of insinuation about you. Really, I was comparing the initial cost of the K&N with the ongoing cost of filter replacement - we've since learnt that that isn't an issue, as pot scrubbers are just as effective. I wouldn't have thought so, but it's written down, so it must be true.
