Petrol tank baffles

Post by M25VAN »

Hi, has anyone bought /fitted one of the larger capacity fuel tanks lately? Did they have baffles inside to stop the petrol sloshing about?
I started to clean up a 9 gallon tank that I bought for my van a few years ago and noticed that it didn't have any baffles inside it. :(
The original tank in the van does. Not much I can do about it now but if that's the way they all come I'll not worry.
Thanks

Hi,
I bought a larger capacity petrol tank from a well know supplier and noticed it had no baffles in it and no drain plug - absolute rubbish. This was quite a few years ago so they might have improved. Unfortunately I needed the extra capacity so I cut out and fitted the drain plug but couldn't do much about the baffles. I was very dissappointed in it.

Regards,
Wal

Aren't the baffles rather important? Like stopping fuel sloshing round and out?

That's what I always thought. Just wondered if the new tanks had them and if not whether it causes a problem.
