Post by paul.kissick »

hello friends Could anybody tell me what the number is for on the top left hand side of the engine bay? It is on a plate just below the bonnet hinge? it has got a series of letters and numbers on ,and is the same colour as the car.

If you mean on the RIGHT hand side looking from the front of the car then
it is some sort of body number. If you look above your post at CAMS post
you will see that he is doing some research in to these numbers. It is not the
chassis number.

Ok ,if the numbers/letters are on a long thin plate then it is a body number.
Could you list these numbers/letters?

...and if it is a body number then you're one of the lucky ones who got both a body number and a VIN :) (or equivalent!)

Hebe's Body number plate is really in a bad way. I can read it though and plan to re-do a new one for when she's finished. Out of interest, has anyone stamped their number into the floor pan?

The numbers are Z36057 & R250042. The first 1 is stamped outwards and the other is stamped inwards. does this make things any easier for you? the plate is 80mm long and 10mm wide.

As said that is a 'body' number which means nothing to most of us until
CAM finishes his research.
