My son has a Rover 400 series and I struggled for over an hour to get rear shoe off of handbrake cable. In fact I never did succeed, I told him to take his motor car away and not to come back till he bought himself a car you could work on, ie a Moggy.
Ian.
Your darn right.
I gave up trying to adjust the rear drums on my Polo. There's about 4 pairs of springs in there I think. I was so convinced I was going to mess it up even more that I drove it down the Canterbury road into Folkestone (and I mean DOWN! ) to the VW garage for them to do. I was down to first gear to assist braking at times and at one point was contemplating having to stall it to a stop by switching the engine off!
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
