Re: Supermarket petrol.
Oh Dear, have I upset a couple of unitary construction boys ! These are the grommets drivewasher. You can normally fit a brake union through them. No one is making them anymore.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1421438422_2575 [/frame] The one I received, obviously wrong, fitted in the hole...

Re: Supermarket petrol.
I have had terrible trouble with grommets on my resto from the same supplier not being same as described or just pure crap. The tie plate ones I tried to stretch over the union nuts the grommet just split! I did eventually manage to get the wrong one on. The petrol pump wire grommet was the one that...

Re: What would that be?
With side valves particularly, it's great practice to re-torque relatively often. There's no need to remove rocker covers, or reset the valve gaps to do it, it couldn't really be easier. I've worked on primarily Second World War American side valves, and was common practice for me as part of a serv...

Re: Supermarket petrol.
It doesn't! Water is heavier than petrol or indeed oil. Just weigh a gallon of petrol then a gallon of oil.
That's why oil slicks float.
the forum software changed the other way of spelling testicles to FOOTBALLS for some reason!

Re: Supermarket petrol.
people that buy fuel from supermarkets are more than likely the same sort of people that buy 'winter' tyres. I suppose some people have to keep these companies alive with there custom. wondered why my company fuel card is only valid for use at shell, esso, bp and Texaco and none of the supermarkets...

Re: Supermarket petrol.
To me, thats all testicals! Especially on vehicle tanks. The pick in a tank is NOT at the bottom like the plug hole in a bath. It's raised OFF the bottom so as not to pick up anything lurking on the bottom being low on fuel level won't affect muck on the bottom, after all if it can't float it will al...

Re: how's your legs??
I have found you can rust proof inside the chassis legs two ways, one is to drill 10mm holes in the engine bay above the chassis legs and inject the potion of your choice, then use rubber plugs to seal the hole, the second way is to remove the gearbox cover and again inject the potion of choice. If...

Re: tax disc holder position
The OP probably knows that no tax disc is req, I would suspect he's displaying a replica of the original tax disc that was on his van in the year it was registered. Not having to display a valid disc means this can now be done.

Re: Door trim plugs
Don't they go just in the bottom holes? I bought some and didn't use them cos I had enough origonal old ones for 1 door but the other door was a van door so didn't need them. Only discovered this after I bought them. I'll measure them with a vernier if you like. If they are ok I'll post em for postage
