Re: we have a problem

There you are you see..17 posts and counting. Of course it is a serious post Les. I was excited in 1969 to think that there were men walking on the Moon. A lot has happened since then to make me think that it was fake. At the time I remember hippies handing out leaflets stating that the distance was...

Re: we have a problem

This forum is lacking a lot... Really? 'Promoting the preservation and use of the postwar Morris Minor' is the mission statement at the head of this board and, in my experience at least, it achieves those aims admirably. Or am I merely the victim of another conspiracy? I think this is an excellent ...

Re: we have a problem

Not you as well Simon! I don't think the Clangers lived on the moon. (?) Let me expand, and see if anyone sensible wants to comment. Recently, several Countries have failed to land unmanned craft on the Moon; over 50 years after the USA claimed to have landed manned craft successfully more than once...

This forum is lacking a lot...why not a conspiracy theory?

I used to like Bill and Ben. It comes as a shock to me that they were artificially created. Don't tell me the Woodentops were not real either. :-(

we have a problem

There are a lot of technically gifted people on here...I hope this post is allowed to run.

Isn't it about time that the USA admitted that no human has ever walked on the moon, and that the Apollo 'missions' were filmed on Earth, and that the whole thing was a Cold War propaganda exercise?

Re: dual circuit brakes

I tried it 35 years ago with a Fiat 124 (?) master cylinder. The cylinder fitted into the chassis rail just like a minor one, and used the same pedal and push rod set up. It had a remote filler, and split the drum brakes front and back. One day the brakes seized on, and I removed it and went back to...

Sorry Elaine to hijack your thread.

I think that Les had a point....in that the choke cable may be a bit slack; so that you are not getting full choke when you pull the knob out.

I like 'dreckly' , that should certainly be a word.

I knew of someone years ago who thought 'phorinstance' was a word. :o

Re: changing language

I think watching screens has a more depressing result rocco.

It took me until I was about 55 before I became completely jaded with life.
I think that young folk nowadays become jaded with life much earlier; because they are bombarded by horrible content all of the time.

Re: changing language

I suppose in advertising, it is trying to make the message stand out.

It is working, but in the wrong way. I now have no intention to take Lemsip; or to big garden birdwatch.

Just seen another one...

changing language

Heard on various adverts on UK TV in recent weeks... "people breakfast different" "how will you Christmas?" "if you need to warranty your car" "however you cold, use lemsip" "how will you big garden birdwatch?" In recent years, some people have tried...

Re: Cameras

The Grauniad yesterday reported that there was a 30% increase in dashcam recordings submitted to police in 2023 than the previous year; and that the police took action on 70% of the recordings submitted. I still wish there were more cops on the road catching people red handed. Good analysis of the 2...

There are some sayings that I frequently use when I am driving...
'Only a fool brakes the two second rule'.
'The best place for the idiot behind you, is in front of you'.

Anybody got any more?.....

Re: Cameras

Thanks folks. I think dangerous driving has got more prevalent since covid and the lockdowns for some reason. I have mentioned it before on here that I can remember the public information film on the TV in the 70s that showed a machine being taken round shopping centres. The presenter (unfortunately...

Re: Cameras

John, Almost all dashcams have the option to plug into an auxiliary socket rather than be hard wired. It also allows you to switch the camera between cars if you buy a second camera mount. Once configured the way you want (video quality etc) they are plug-and-go. Which make/model do you already hav...
