Re: Paint question of the day.
Yes.... useless stuff in my experience especially from a spray can and a shadow of the original type.... but less likely to react with other paint as its so weak and washy and dosent stick or dry properly ...

Re: Oil filter housing leak.
I agree with Phil....When you fit a replacement (as your casting and the mounting studs sound like they are damaged beyond repair) bear the below in mind whether you decide to obtain an original type or a conversion (spin on) type.... David Jay posted this elsewhere "I am posting this so that h...

Re: Name of rubber parts on door?
I've never been able to find them in the AKD3541 or 3542. The illustration you're expect them to be on is this one :-? It clearly shows the little 'Washer (rubber)' item 25 that Phil noticed missing. The two door plugs (grommets) are shown on A6-1 adjoining BA14-1 of the body parts list Part number...

Re: Looking for one of these car patent plates
Thanks Steve Both Classic Repro and ESM do the series 2.. '53' version but its more likely to have been fitted with the Series 2.. '51' version as my picture...I suppose I could use the later one as a template but would really prefer to obtain or copy an original '51' version so I can get it just ri...

Looking for one of these car patent plates

Re: Windscreen Wiper Boxes
Yes exactly that. My thread has further details. Unfortunately my wheel boxes are seized. I have discovered that at one time the spindle, gear and splined part were supplied as replacement parts. It may be possible for me to disassemble the wheel boxes to remove the corrosion that is causing them t...

Re: Passenger toe board rectangular hole
That is the LHD dipswitch hole I think...... Earlier cars had a bolted on plate and rubber gasket and a slightly smaller circular hole ....see here from parts list N5 The bitumen/asbestos or fibre felt cover was probably cheaper to install and just as good at keeping out water. :D Dip switch and pla...
