Re: Registration origins
Hi, Today I received my reply from the DVLA. She was originally MED 559 and it looks like a keeper in Northwich owned her until around 1978. From the data they have let me have it appears that the original registration was lifted around 2019 by someone in Romford, presumably just before they sold h...

this is the fuel pump and the dodgy pvc fuel hose Hi, I've attached a link below to some E10 proof fuel hose for you. Best wishes, Mike. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265291462525?var=565229362106&_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20211130125621%26meid%3D60...

Posters jumping to uncorroborated conclusions - as is often the case on the forum. I only read the replies as 'Posters offering suggestions and opinions based on their own past experiences'. I can't see anyone ordering or even strongly suggesting that the OP take one particular course of action. Be...

My bargain of the month
Hi, For some time now I have been meaning to replace my numberplate lights. I had tried to 'refurbish' the existing ones but they proved too worn out and I only got the passenger side going again for a few minutes, whilst the drivers side soldiered on, dimly, by itself thereafter..... So time to re...

Re: It's not always the clutch itself that fails........
The spacer plate is now fitted and maybe it's me but the clutch does feel 'firmer' / more positive now. As mentioned above fitting this plate can be achieved without taking every thing apart again and I this is how I proceeded to do it. with the bolts out the linkage into the side of the gearbox ca...

Re: Fuel pumps
The next is basically secondhand. A faulty one, returned to Burlen and then, after checking/repair/whatever it has been sent back as "working"..... If they are stating refurbished then I wouldn't be sniffy about saving money. The advert actually states: MORRIS MINOR GENUINE S U PETROL FUE...

Re: 75th Anniversary Stickers
Appreciate the feedback…another low res sample. I think this second more detailed line drawing design is excellent, non specific in terms of colour and therefore would sit well with anyone's car. I would like to think this will appeal to lots of Traveller owners. Let me know if you produce any. Bes...

Re: Headlights go of
Hi, I agree with Berni, in that I doubt there is much difference internally and they both function the same, it depends on how stuck on originality you are I suppose. The main differences appear to be: 1: That the early ones feature 'screw on' wiring connections whereas the late ones feature 'push ...

Re: 847 BHN A6 Murder & Heartbeat TV show
The number is certainly not on the DVLA database anymore. I wonder what happened to the car itself, a change of plate or scrapped because of its association with the murder?
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Price of progress?
So 4 hours at £120 an hour, so £480. Plus the part at £85.Took 4 hours of computer time to diagnose and replace at £120 per hour, plus the part at £85. Bargain.
Totalling £565 then.
And people I know wonder why I prefer older cars that I can fix myself................

Re: The price of tyres
They will fit of course and perform satisfactorily And that will do for me. It's up to each individual how much they choose to pay for certain things of course, if people prefer to go for 'named' brands then fair enough. I've done this myself in the past. But for me they're a consumable, all design...

Looks a nice car, perhaps not a good idea transporting it at this time of year with the doors off though. Fortunately it's too cold at present for rain.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi,
For those interested, I emailed Matt and he thinks it should be available around the end of March.
I too think it looks interesting enough to buy a copy.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: The price of tyres
That's what I will need to budget for then. I did find some slightly cheaper but it will depend on how much 'Camskill' wants for postage. Where can you get one for £36 Mike? Links below. I would just buy the tyres from them, if I go to 'Blackcircles', as I normally get them fitted elsewhere locally...

The price of tyres
Hi,
Been a little while since I needed to buy some but the price seems to have escalated, even for (what used to be) the 'cheaper' makes......
Cheapest I can find is £36 a tyre!
Best wishes,
Mike.

Time to uncork the copper grease then methinks, nothing like a bit of generous lubrication......

Re: It's not always the clutch itself that fails........
Interesting, there wasn't one fitted when I originally dismantled this........ I will have to get one, although I'm not in any hurry to take the car back off the road and pull it all apart again :-( , I must admit..... I will also check Sally to see if there is one fitted to her. At this point, loo...

have you got the spacer that sits against the chassis rail behind the bush mounting Hi, If you mean the bronze bush that sits inside the (now) poly one then yes.
