The Minors have moved with me - not an easy task as neither has proper steering!
Blimey - did you move them both of them at the same time? :o

Good to hear you're still with us Martin.

Yep, I recommend Mozilla as well (but you do get the odd site that doesn't load properly).

But is that not only true after the cat heats up. If it is the case, what about all those short jorneys where they must be pumping out just as much gasses..... Quite right Norrie - typically a modern car has to run several minutes before the cat starts working properly. Of course by restricting the...

It won't be right even if the speedo is working correctly. The Smiths speedo would over-estimate real speed by 4-5mph.

I seriously wouldn't recommend thrashing the engine to that extent on a regular basis.

There is another solution - work out (roughly) how much fuel you need to fill up then put slightly less in - for instance when my fuel gauge shows just under a quarter full I always put in 20 litres (about 4.4 gallons). Another problem with a completely full tank is that fuel may dribble out of the ...

One Minor on the road, two in the back garden! I would like to know the total as much as Lou does - but only the DVLA could say for a fact how many are registered for road use on any given date. The MMOC asks people to state how many cars they have, but I'm sure some people don't fill the form in an...

It doesn't stop me either Mel - mainly because my minor is the only car I have on the road!!! I can imagine the North Yorks moors must be spectacular when they're covered in snow.

Can't really comment about DVLA staff though I suspect you are right. Certainly the police are totally hobbled by paperwork (apparently there's a 3 page form each time they stop someone). However I think your ire should be focused entirely at local & national politicians. A ban on all older cars...

Whats wrong with the MMOC?? This forum is MMOC hosted and run.

Am I missing some sort of hostility or friction between the club and Forum users here, their one and the same in my eyes.
Hostility or Friction? What are you going on about? Andrew's comment is quite clearly light-hearted. :o

You might be lucky, but don't expect miracles. Usually rusting in this area is due to liquid mud & debris thrown up by the wheel, which clings all round the headlight bowl. You may need a new rubber ring like this one as well.

Just heard on the radio there are two million untaxed cars in the UK and 80% of those are uninsured and unroadworthy I was chatting to my MOT man today (doing the wife's car, not my Moggie). Apparently a few days ago the police set up a check on the Uxbridge road and within 10 minutes they had impo...

As far as I know there is only one sort for a 1969 car. Originals were metal, but plastic ones are also now available. If the original metal bowl has rusted into pieces it's likely your wing isn't long for this world either... :o

I don't know anyone who has but it should be relatively easy now that Malta is in the EC. There is no question of duty/VAT if it is a private sale. In theory if the car has a current Maltese registration and MOT (equivalent) it can be driven in the UK for six months before you have to register it. T...
