Do you have the " secret" dash light switch ? Just found mine , and it would be easy-peasey to use it to kill the ignition circuit...

If you tighten the front nut/bolt I think you will find the rear spacer ( built into the alternator) will/should slide into the alternator allowing it to align the pulleys...

Not wanting to drift the thread but ,removing the gold faced speedo from a '58, is it simply a matter of loosening the two side screws or do they have to be removed completely ?

You've had the engine out...you haven't connected the dynamo wire to the oil pressure switch and vice-versa?

A little bit of fine emery cloth is your friend....take out the fuses and clean the end caps till they look like metal,the same with the fuse holders...

I Like to be able to see the road in front of me,the seat height when I bought mine was way too low,so just cut the rear bracket and welded in two pieces of tube 2" long,much better visibility and brought the back nearer the steering wheel. Try it first with some wooden blocks to find your best...

At the wheel end ? I am going to castellate ( 44 ) the rim of the disc and the rim of the brake drum and mount the sensors as best I can , other than that basic wiring and plumbing....anytime over 8mph and the brakes are applied it monitors the rotational speed of each wheel,if any appear to have lo...

The complete car was £250,which gave me the 75k miles 2.0 Zetec engine and ABS unit,just fitting the disc brake conversion and servo at the moment and am stockpiling the type 9 gearbox ( will shorten by 4" ) and Escort back axle....just wondered about the diff ratio...the Quaife ATB is attached...
