Re: Split screen seen at local tip
The upload does work - but the site 'down sizes' the pictures. There's no point storing a picture 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels when they're only going to be shown at 640pixels or so wide. The small image only takes a fraction of the storage space of the large one. It takes time for the server to scale ...

Re: Changing signature photo
That doesn't look like a hack, just an error in the processing of the picture. I can't see the website files from here (at work), but I'll check it out later tonight.

Re: Amp + Speakers = Insurance Mod?
So don't give them the chance to refuse. Try somewhere else first. I went to Peter James, and the whole thing was sorted out in less time than it usually takes FJ to answer the phone.

Re: Insurance
They didn't ask who did our modifications, but I didn't give them the chance - I got a better deal elsewhere. I suppose it may depend how drastic the modifications are.

Re: Magazine Negatives
Actually, that's pretty much the actual size of the negatives. The scan's are about 2500x2000 pixels, so way too big to post. I'll have to work something out once I've cleaned and rescanned them

Magazine Negatives
I recently bought some negatives on e-bay (makes a change from cars  ) These are 5" x 4" glass negatives (that's inches, none of your new fangled measurements here). According to the seller, these were magazine quality photographs of a Morris Minor Convertible. I wasn't sure how I was...

Re: Socket Size
while on the subject what about the rear axle hub nut - need to do wheel bearings in the future. 1 and 7/16 AF very good point - however that would need a deep socket. I use a ring spanner for the starter dog (and crack it with the starter motor) Deeps socket also gets round the horn problem on the...

That's because you registered as philplumbe using the bigpond address.
So just to clarify - you want me to delete philplumbe and set your email address for plumby74 to the bigpond one?
