Re: Charles Ware Resto in liquidation.

Scroll down to see the announcement. Given that one has to login to Facebook to read the item, it's not much help if one does not have and does not want such an account  What's wrong with an announcement in plain text on a normal website for everyone to read? Here it is off FB: https:/...

Charles Ware Resto in liquidation.

Oh dear! What next? :o

Just read that the restoration side of the business has been put into liquidation. Hopefully, it will be bought out and continue trading or it's the end of an era.

Apparently all well with parts and vehicle sales so that's helpful.

Re: Replacement Smaller Banjo Steering Wheel?

Thanks for all your helpful responses, folks. Much appreciated. It appears this is an age old issue as I found this article from a 1994 Street Machine magazine but I'm not sure how "clean" the final product would be? https://www.rodsnsods.co.uk/threads/making-my-morris-steering-wheel-small...

Replacement Smaller Banjo Steering Wheel?

Hello folks, Does anyone know whether it's possible to replace the standard (large!) banjo steering wheel on a Moggie (1964) to one that still has the same banjo styling but is an inch or or two smaller in diameter? Did Morris/Austin/BL etc. make a smaller version for any other cars? I would like a ...

Re: Softer Ride

I cant think why there is a need to mess with the suspension. Its a complete waste of time in my view for a road car even with a tuned 1275cc IMHO My Moggie was totally transformed by having the suspension professionally set up and it's always something I'm happy to pay for. Not by a random chap at ...

Re: Rolling Road

Glad helped. Yes, best to get your engine well run in first as it takes a strong heart/stomach hearing your Moggie being revvved close to 5000rpm on a rolling road. Mine was popping and banging like a bitch at max revs and I must admit to feeling quite concerned but the tester was well happy! He set...

Re: Rolling Road

I took my Moggie (1275, HIF44, 123 dizzy, profiled cam, Maniflow etc) to JPR Tuning in Yate, just outside Bristol and was very pleased with John's set up. He very much old school so knows all about A series. Expect to pay £120 to £150 for a set up but more if you need dizzy/SU changes. He also has t...

Re: get you home bodges

Moggie bodges over the past 20 years: a) Throttle cable snapped so refitted choke cable to pull throttle arm to get me home. Thankfully, engine was warm so no need for choke to start. b) Fuel pipe developed a leak but managed to patch up with chewing gum to get home. c) Sump developed an oil leak an...
