Re: Minor Matters May/June 2021
Our magazine finally arrived today, just one day in advance of the 12th May deadline to contact Admin if one wishes to particpate in the MMOC AGM on 19th May. If you are an MMOC member, do attend the AGM, it's your chance to see who's who 'at the top' and to have your democratic say in the running o...

Re: Pick UP Cab Versus Traveler Cab Size
ptanner2611, here are the measurements as checked by Chris, my OH, tech adviser to the French club and the hands-on Minor rebuilder here: Allowing for a 5mm gap between the front wing and the door, and a 5mm gap between the door and the B post, the distance from the rear edge of the wing to the back...

Re: Pick UP Cab Versus Traveler Cab Size
Hi ptanner2611,
We have both a 1098 traveller and a 1098 van in our garage and in daily use, what measurement(s) exactly would you like?
Imperial or metric?

Re: Purists look away now
Why the restyling? Because my OH wants to do it.
The car has been lurking in the far end of the garage since it started using as much oil as petrol, years ago.
Having completed several 'standard' Minor restorations and some classic motorbikes he decided he would dig CAR out and do something with it.

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
If you are still worried please do contact your doctor/emergency health number, otherwise if it gets better just say 'phew' - a couple of days of discomfort is nothing compared to having so-called mild non-hospitalised Covid in our experience. Let alone needing oxygen and the rest, as some of our fr...

Re: 2021 National
None of us can plan for sure for anything yet for the Summer season in Europe. Most clubs, MMOC included, and classic car event organisers are doing their best to think outside the box to offer some form of gathering if and when that is allowed. The MMOC picnic proposal should be applauded, not crit...

Not yet, still recovering from Covid.
Plse get the vaccine when you can.
We had been ultra careful, I am not going to go into details as to how we think we 'got' it, it is all too sad

Re: ETHANOL CHANGES
King Kenny, in France (for 29 years now) we use 98E5 when 95 isn't available, never E10 as there is a risk to your fuel system, you may have problems long-term, one fill is unlikely to do any harm. We use two 1098 Minors as everyday cars. The fuel consumption using 98 is at least 40mpg, more on long...

Re: How many tools is enough?
simple answer you can't have too many tools it's a man thing !! as a simple creature a box of spanners = happy therefore problem solved Disagree, sorry, but only on the grounds that it is not a 'man' thing! I enjoy sewing and cooking as well as moggying, and I have more kitchen and sewing bits and ...

With Admin's agreement I'm posting to say that if anyone needs assistance with the cancellation or re-arranging of a holiday booking in France (holiday cottage or B&B or other) I'm happy to help. I can't promise a magic solution, but I am involved professionally with the tourist industry here an...

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020
You two Mikes are going round in circles, it seems to me! In simple terms if your ferry is running to schedule but you choose not to sail the usual terms and conditions which you signed up for apply, yes? None of us know yet when you 'furriners' will be allowed to set wheel and foot down in France f...
