Re: What?!!
Don't be too harsh on the modifier/restorer they have made a nice car, I agree too pricey, it may not be standard by a long way and certainly not a concours show winner. How many minors on the road have had mod's of some kind....probably quite a lot. Cars have always had extra's fitted or upgraded, ...

dust in drums causing juddering when stopping
My 62 two door developed a horrible juddering vibration when coming to a stop, I suspected the worst, dampers or worn bushes, but it was a simple fix. I checked the damper bolts, all tight, looked for loose fastenings and all seemed ok, so front wheels off drums off and found lots of brake dust in t...

Re: Driving Technique
I often start in second if it's possible. From a full standstill, I use first but if the car is moving the slightest bit, I try to get away with second. The Minor is pretty low-geared so it's usually fine. Another useful trick that you probably know about already is to 'nudge' second gear before go...

Re: 'Smart' motorways
I vote Yes, cars are more reliable nowadays but they still break down, have punctures etc, having to stop in a live lane would be a nightmare, if you have no hard shoulder you may have no option! If you have just passed an emergency refuge area when a problem occurs you may not make it to the next a...

Re: Quality tools
I agree with Beero, get round the car boots, they are all back on now, look under the tables and you will find the boxes of old tools, go for vintage British, American, Swedish, German, Even some Japanese are good quality. You can also find vintage Record vices which are far better than modern recor...

Re: Hi All from newbie

Hi All from newbie
Hi all from a newbie to this forum, I am Larry from Burnley and have just bought myself a 1962 2 door moggie. Over the last few years I have been tinkering with and riding classic British motorcycles until on Good Friday I went to the shop on my Tiger Cub, a car pulled out in front of me (I had my h...
