Re: What exhaust for Marina 1275?
Thanks Phil! It did throw me as in all my research I’d never seen it mentioned anywhere. I shall proceed with this package of upgrades as planned. The only problem I’m having is finding the correct abutment plate. I’ve been given part no. 12G766, however that seems to relate to the HS4 on mini. I be...

Re: What exhaust for Marina 1275?
If you keep everything Marina you will have less trouble setting everything up which can be a problem especially if you have a mix and match engine assy. Resurrecting an old post here. I’ve been reading this thread and, taking Phil’s advice, using the information within it for planned upgrades (fro...

Re: HS4 abutment plate
Sticking with the HS2 will not allow the engine to run to it's potential, in my opinion you need an 1 1/2" carb at least (HS4 or HIF 38) and a similar sized bore exhaust system. The point of fitting a 1275 is to increase the available engine power and to restrict it so seems a bit of a shame. ...

Re: HS4 abutment plate
Thanks panky. My cables would be to the rear of the engine bay. I had an interesting chat with a Minor specialist today, who implored me to leave the current set up alone. Currently I have Marina 1275 engine, HS2 carb, 1098 manifold, air filter and exhaust. I was told it should “pull like a train” o...

HS4 abutment plate
I need an abutment plate as I’m changing my carburettor to an HS4 (to match the Marina 1275 engine).
Would a plate for an HS4 carb from a mini be suitable, or would the throttle and choke cables be on the wrong side?

Re: Signature File Attachments
Thanks guys. Tried it at 250x250. Still looks big on my screen. Any smaller and it’s just a blur. I’ll maybe just sack the idea
Going to have it made into a sticker though.

Re: First Minor. Daily drive - winter advice request
Hi Oli, Congratulations on your new car. If the heater fan isn’t working it could well be a faulty rheostat (or an electrical connection as you say.) A quarter light window open in window does wonders to prevent misting. I keep a couple of socks filled with fresh cat litter under the front seats in ...

Re: Boot Lock problem
What a shame. Racking my brains but drawing a blank. I hope someone more knowledgable is able to help you.
I stand to be corrected but I thought the boot could be accessed via the fold down rear seat on all saloons?

Re: calling the police
Is it not all covered by section 72 of the Highways Act 1835? Now you’re asking! I can’t say I was ever trained on that legislation so I’ve absolutely no idea whether it’s still relevant today. E scooters weren’t a thing on my beat a few years ago. You could try asking to be put in touch with your ...

Re: calling the police
Well the laws here in Scotland are a little bit different in terms of “public order” quoted above, but road traffic legislation is the same. An E scooter can be held to be a motor vehicle if used on a public road. Hence the driver can be charged with a multitude of offences if caught on a road. No l...

Re: calling the police
We had a local “engine room” that reviewed all calls the previous day and how they were resulted. If trends were spotted they were packaged up and allocated to community or problem solving teams for action. Every force, division and sub-division will have their own way of doing these things. As a si...
