Thanks for that Archie76 if all else fails i'll try a new control box , i'm glad to know its not just me that has tried (and failed lol ) with everything else :wink:

I will get a meter today , the AA man did test the dynamo and said it wasn't charging , i'll post the readings later today , i'd like to find an alternator for £1! Bmc :D

I drive the car everyday (when it works lol ) and i have a radio and cig lighter for the sat nav fitted , im just thinking that by the time i have bought a new control box and maybe a dynamo i may as well just pay for the alternator kit. I am assuming this is relatively easy to fit?

Thanks Mike i'll have a look at that tomorrow but im starting to think that an alternator conversion is in the pipeline lol

Hi all i had to get the AA out the other day as my car just died , absolutely nothing . The nice AA man tested the dynamo as the red warning light was on when he jump started the car , he said the dynamo wasn't charging , i managed to get the car home , bought a new battery to be on the safe side , ...

i don'y have a servo and the tyres look quite new lots of tread on them an no cracking or hardening, would i be better getting the right size tyres and a servo fitted? I have to admit i am beginning to get a little bit scared to drive it again in the wet!

Thanks for all the advice guys , i will find a wet quiet stretch of road and practise emergency stops,i have never been as scared as i was yesterday sliding downhill towards the pig that pulled out , luckley no one was hurt and no cars were damaged, lesson learned :lol:

Thanks bmc i will try 30 psi , i can't say iv'e noticed anything when cornering but then it's my first morris so i have nothing to compare it to , i have had 2 very near misses whilst going downhill in the wet and having to brake hard because an idiot cut me up . ahhhh so my car has the wrong tyres ! Could this be why i slide when braking hard if its wet? Sorry if i sound like an idiot but the braking has been worrying me greatly , i never thought that it could be the tyres
