Hi All, Brief update (which leaves me feeling a little sheepish!). The weather has finally permitted me to have a closer look and I find that Yes, as suggested, the wires have been got at. I think that to bring the unit inside the cab, the wires have been extended using whatever colours were to hand...

the unit says Lucas FlasherFL5 12V42 and then 35020A2069 Do not drop! I presume that this is the flasher control because it (used to) tick when the indicators flashed and when it's removed the flashers cease to function! It is odd in that they are usually (I think) situated in the engine compartment...

It has a red and yellow wire, red wire and a blue and white wire to the three pins marked P, L and B respectively ? It's a M1000 1969 with stop tail lights doubling as indicators. The new flasher has P, L and X. There is constant power to the indicators (and stalk) regardless as to their position (i...

Flasher problems
Hi all, I know that there was a recent post on this but mine is a slightly different flasher issue... I was having problems with the flasher unit speeding up if it was on for more than a few seconds but otherwise all working fine. Then the unit? failed and I started to get a solid light (no flashing...

No expert but your info... I fitted a seal to my boot lid supplied by ESM (no idea if it was old or new style). This seal is about 7mm thick 18mm wide and more than long enough, very supple too so bends around the corners easily. Worked a treat. I took the original rubber seal off then had a terribl...

And switch on the fuel pump - how do i do this? Simply switch on the ignition or start engine? Should I also replace the float ...

This looks like mine I think (raining now so I'll check tomorrow) and earlier I took out the needle which appears in good condition and after some squinting does have an M stamp. So looks like an HS2 carb. I tried pushing the piston lift up and although it was hard to tell where it touched the pisto...

Help! Mixture problems
I have a standard 1960 saloon. It runs well, is smooth and quiet and idles beautifully. However it seems to be running a tad rich, I get a patch of soot on the floor below the exhaust after idling for a minute or so. The exhaust and plugs also look a little dark. I decided to tweak the mixture - sim...

Flasher
Advice please... My indicator flasher unit is hanging beneath the steering wheel inside the car, is it right to have the flasher inside or should it be mounted on the bulkhead in the engine bay? I checked a friends Moggy and theirs is in the engine compartment mounted onto a bolt that holds the nega...

Drain holes
Hi all, I've recently bought a MM1000 (1960) 2 door saloon. It had been resprayed and generally it's a pretty good job, but... they seem to have filled in the drain holes at the top of the wings where inner wing buts up to outer just adjacent to the bonnet hinges (does that make sense?). Is this lik...

I would ask for suggestions but I fear it could lead to abuse?.. Doh! I'm being paranoid again.

Paranoid
Fair enough, Just wanted to fit in. I'll stop being paranoid then..... But isn't there a risk that someone might recognise my name, hack into my computer and ruin my life?

Change my Username?
I'm a new member and in registering for the forum have ended up with my name as my username rather than something suitably clever like Morrisman or Moggo etc. Any way that I can change it?
