Re: Pickup restoration part three
my pleasure, finding an original small part like that wouldn't have been the same. here's Alice, earlier today picking up My Sister from the train station to take her to the car hire, as she visits for the week. https://res.cloudinary.com/lglcsryth/image/upload/v1638376625/jackie_arrives_in_worthing_...

Excellent! That's good to see. Also nice to know that a tiny bit of my long-since-scrapped first Minor lives on in your pickup - the little switch under the dashboard which turns off/on the speedo light! here it is, under Alice's dash, still fulfilling the role it was intended for. https://res.clou...

and she's come a long way since her recovery Looks like it was recovered from the edge of a building site? Was the farmers field / hedge part of a development? Always interesting to see images like this, the start of a restoration journey, it makes you appreciate just what has had to be done to ret...

Re: Planning pick up restoration
Well worth every penny you send restoring a pickup, Did mine a few years back, 2009 and as a second car it's perfect. Alice lives in a garage, starts first time, even if she hasn't run for a few days, she's economic, and as she has the original 1098cc engine, she's tax free as a historic vehicle, ch...

glad you're keeping those brain cells in use Bob, be a hec of a waste otherwise. Like they say, if you don't use it... today was a check day, Brakes, battery, my new exhaust brackets, took Alice out for a run in the country, what a great day to be on the open road. https://res.cloudinary.com/lglcsry...

Re: Pickup restoration part three
Cheers Bob. great fix for my nagging exhaust bracket problem, finally found a solution, I purchased a Ford Transit van exhaust bracket and it fits perfectly, no welding needed either. https://res.cloudinary.com/lglcsryth/image/upload/v1584622227/exhaust_bracket_ratte_osfmrb.png it's stopped the ratt...

Re: Tourer that just can't be saved
she is doomed to sit there and just fade away, such a shame, the owner now owes the cost of holding fee on top of any restoration work, the torsion bar bolts are welded over apparently.

Re: Tourer that just can't be saved
the owner placed a price for restoration with the company that hold it in their rear scrap yard, company said way too low, the owner said he'll think about it and hasn't been contactable since, years later, she's gone from white to green moss coloured. https://res.cloudinary.com/lglcsryth/image/uplo...
