The mig turned up today so should have the engine/gearbox out sunday am and be welding sunday pm. back on the road monday :lol:

ok, lesson learnt. spraying it is.
Definately on highly visible panels like the bonnet, what a nightmare trying to get it flat, i now have one arm like Geoff Capes. :oops:

brush on primer?

Hi,
just bought a tin of hammerite anti rust primer, to use on the bonnet i have just finished stripping to bare metal.

Am i barking up the wrong tree, should i stick to spraying? if so what first etch primer, normal primer etc etc

Yes i mean plug welding.
I watched a video on expert village and they called it puddle.
Haven't got a clue what i'm talking about really.

I don't think the panels are too bad.
if i repair, whats best, over lap the new metal and puddle weld, or butt the metal together and seam weld?
